The diverse languages and literature to be found along the Silk Roads contribute to and enhance the beauty of this region. To recognize and celebrate this fact, SUN has decided to three contests for the students of the SUN and an annual cultural event. We are pleased to announce the results of the contests. We highly appreciate all the students who participated in.
PHOCOS 2022
PHOCOS aims to, through the medium of photograph, share "the Beauty of Diversity" existing along the Silk Road and to let people around the world realize how important and valuable it is to preserve and respect each indigenous culture by showcasing "Mutual Understanding" among the members of SUN. It’ll be a great honor of SUN if this event can be a starting point so that SUN could possibly form a never-failing source of realizing the peace of Silk Road area and the richness of mankind. We hope to make PHOCOS an annual event showcasing works by amateurs on different themes each year.
The theme for PHOCOS 2022 is ‘Fighting Against Covid-19 on the Silk Roads’. We accepted submissions for works by August 31, 2022.

WRICOS 2022
The main purpose of the WRICOS is to promote and share the values and the beauty of cultural diversity, especially in languages across the land and maritime Silk Road areas. Furthermore, the other goals and purposes are to restore our pride in the Silk Roads as a birthplace for civilizations and to enhance mutual understanding as a key medium for the peaceful coexistence and prosperity of all human beings.
WRICOS 2022 has opened the submission by August 31, 2022, and finally, the result is now released. This year, there was one common theme for poems and essays, and another theme was made for essays: 'My Hometown: What does your hometown mean to you?' for poems and essays, and 'Students' Perspectives on the Era of AI and Big Data: Opportunities & Challenges.' for essays. We have set the themes not only based on the beauty of the languages but also the consideration of the similarities and uniqueness of the cities on the Silk Road.

S-DECOS 2021-2022
S-DECOS’s purpose is to develop SUN students’ speaking and presentation skills, as well as their knowledge in diverse aspects.
The 3rd S-DECOS was held in 2021 but due to the prevalence of COVID-19, the contest was postponed to 2022. In this period, 13 students from 6 different countries participated in S-DECOS 2021. The topic was about students’ perspectives in the era of AI and Big Data: Opportunities & Challenges and it was rated by two professors considering the participant’s speech theme, content, persuasion, and expression.
